The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies held a live virtual rollout of its latest report Long-Range Strike: Resetting the Balance of Stand-in and Stand-off Forces by Col (Ret.) Mark Gunzinger, Director of Future Concepts and Capability Assessments on Thursday, 18 June. Lt Gen (Ret.) David Deptula hosts a panel discussion on the need to increase the size of the USAF’s bomber force and its capacity to penetrate contested battlespaces to strike thousands of targets in hundreds of hours. Panelists include Lt Gen David S. Nahom, Air Force’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans and Programs; Brig Gen Michael Winkler, PACAF’s Director of Strategic Plans, Requirements and Programs; and the report’s author, Col (Ret.) Mark Gunzinger.
