The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies hosts a special Aerospace Nation with a panel of the authors of the Air Force Warfighting Integration Capability (AFWIC) Global Futures Report. Futures-based thinking is vital to test our ability to adapt to the unexpected and question conventional assumptions that stand in the way of the innovation needed in our defense strategies. AFWIC’s recent Global Futures Report challenges accepted conceptions and considers how the Department of Defense and the Department of the Air Force can conceptualize national security futures that defy established expectations. Author Lt Col Jake Sotiriadis, Ph.D., and members of the Global Futures Report team join us to discuss how the U.S. Air Force can shape an adaptive future strategy and why this methodology is key in supporting the full resourcing of critical programs.
