Lt. Col. Zachary W. Martin

Air Force Developmental Education Fellow

Background: Lt. Col. Martin was Commander of the 347th Operations Support Squadron at Moody AFB, GA. He led 142 personnel in operationalizing the Combat Search and Rescue mission across HH-60W, HC-130J, and Guardian Angel weapon systems. He has deployed numerous times in support of combat operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and East Africa as detachment commander, director of operations, flight lead, wing executive officer, and flight commander.

Academic and Professional Titles: Lt. Col. Martin entered the Air Force in June 2007 through ROTC from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He completed undergraduate pilot training in 2009 and held various positions related to Combat Search and Rescue across Nellis AFB, RAF Lakenheath, United
Kingdom, and Kadena AB, Japan. He attended Air Command and Staff College and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies in Maxwell AFB, AL. Prior to his current position, he was a J5 Plans Branch Chief and Joint Contingency Planner in European Command.
