Directing air operations in an area of responsibility spanning three continents, covering more than 19 million square miles, and containing 104 independent states, USAFE-AFAFRICA must address a wide range of challenges that span the full threat spectrum from a resurgent Russia to violent non-state actors in Africa. Brigadier General Adrian Spain, Director of Plans, Programs and Analyses, USAFE-AFAFRICA, joins us to discuss how the Air Force is engaging in this increasingly complex region as well as other unit basing, organization, and force structure issues in USAFE-AFAFRICA.
